Old Penarthians 2nd XV 19 v Barry 2nd XV 13 (CADRU League)

The Old Penarthians 2nd XV played host to Barry in a SA Brain CADRU 2nd Division fixture.

This was again an evenly contested game with the home team eventually winning 19-13. In fact the result was in doubt until the last five minutes when Penarthians scored a late converted try to come from behind and seal the victory.

The team scored 3 tries through Tom Draper, Ieuan Moorcroft and Dave Finlay, with Nigel Edmunds successful with two conversions.

This was a great team performance with contributions from everyone but the stand-out performance was from Tom Draper who impressed not only his own team but also the opposition, who wondered if he had got lost on the way to the pitch and suggested he should have been playing for the first team.

Maybe with his enthusiasm in place he will find himself in that team next week.
