Old Penarthians 2nd XV v Old Illtydians 2nd XV - game awarded to the Old Penarthians (SA Brain East District 2nd XV Cup)

Unfortunately for the second team their opponents in the SA Brain East District 2nd XV Cup competition, Old Illtydians, had not arrived by the designated kick off time and a very frustrated and annoyed referee declared the Old Penarthians the winners before taking up a touch judge role on the first team pitch.  Equally annoyed was new fixture secretary Jon Vaughan because contact was not made with the club to cancel the fixture or offer an excuse.  Jon insists that match had been confirmed with his opposite number but he was seen leaving the club early on Saturday to check his emails.
